What each measure means

Nominal GDP per person
Output per person converted into current US dollars. Useful for international prices, imports and overseas comparisons, but affected by inflation and exchange rates.
PPP GDP per person
Current international dollars adjusted for local price differences. It estimates how much can be bought domestically.
Inflation-adjusted growth
The percentage change in real GDP per person from the selected start year. This is the clearest economic living-standard signal in this explorer.
Consumer-price change
Cumulative change in the general price level from the selected start year—not the annual inflation rate.
